RTSP Receiver plug-in for bitcontrol® Digital TV Link

The RTSP Receiver plug-in for bitcontrol® Digital TV Link operates in Windows Media® Applications as an RTSP client. This plug-in complies with standard RFC 2326 of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for unicast, multicast and interleave communication between an RTSP client and a common RTSP server, e.g. the Multistream Server plug-in with an RTSP media session.


All common compression formats such as H.264/AVC, MPEG-4 (Part 2), H.263 and MPEG-2 are trasmitted in the relevant RTP protocol. If the RTSP server delivers a transport stream from a TV transponder, i.e. several TV channels including their audio substreams simultaneously, so it will be possible to choose one of the available channels via RTSP URL addressing, e.g.

rtsp://Server-IP-address:Port/live/TV_channel_name?atracks=0

Note: The highlighted part is a parametrization option, atracks sets the id of the audio substream.

As a client for RTSP servers,the RTSP Receiver plug-in supports the authorization procedures Basic and Digest.
