 bitcontrol® Quad Recorder for Windows
 Overview Top

The bitcontrol® Quad Recorder is a stand-alone program to concurrently display and record up to 4 video streams from several Set Top Boxes on one PC. The bitcontrol® Quad Recorder uses the bitcontrol® Digital TV Link and the bitcontrol® MPEG-2 Decoder to process the stream data. To control des program BitCtrl's new "On-Screen-Display" technology for Windows Media® Player is employed.

 Mode of operation Top

The following picture illustrates how the bitcontrol® QuadRecorder works:

For each one of the four video channels, the program creates separate instances of the bitcontrol® Digital TV Link, which in turn uses its own instance of the bitcontrol® MPEG-2 Decoder to decode the video stream read from the network. This works regardless whether the data originally came from a Set Top Box or from another bitcontrol® Digital TV Link in Multicast Retransmitter Mode.

Each video stream can be recorded to disk individually.

Using bitcontrol® Video Overlay Technology it is possible to display additional information for each stream. The above picture gives an example where you can see a small "Recording" symbol faded into the video when the corresponding channel is currently being recorded to disk.
