The following picture illustrates how the bitcontrol® QuadRecorder works:
For each one of the four video channels, the program creates separate instances of the bitcontrol®
Digital TV Link, which in turn uses its own instance of the bitcontrol® MPEG-2 Decoder to decode
the video stream read from the network. This works regardless whether the data originally came from a
Set Top Box or from another bitcontrol® Digital TV Link in Multicast Retransmitter Mode.
Each video stream can be recorded to disk individually.
Using bitcontrol® Video Overlay Technology it is
possible to display additional information for each stream. The above picture gives an example where
you can see a small "Recording" symbol faded into the video when the corresponding channel is
currently being recorded to disk.
