bitcontrol® MPEG Decoder - Version 3.0

The bitcontrol® MPEG Video Decoder is a DirectShow® filter for Microsoft Windows® 98/ME/2K/XP/Vista32/Vista64. The decoder is able to handle following video formats compatible with

  • ISO/IEC 13818-2 (MPEG-2)
  • ITU-T H.263
  • ISO/IEC 14496-2 (MPEG-4)

  • standards.

    You can use the decoder in conjunction with "Windows Media® Player", "bitcontrol® Quad Recorder" or other related players to view MPEG-1/2/4 and H.263 videos.

    Installation
    ---------------------------------------------------------

    1.)

    Download the installation file below from the BitCtrl WEB site http://www.bitcontrol.com (or http://www.bitctrl.de) onto your computer.

    2.)

    Double-click the installation file and follow the instructions displayed on the sreen.


    3.)

    The installation procedure should create a new directory under directory "C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitCtrl".
    There you can find the following files:

    - bcMPEG2ad.ax // bitcontrol® MPEG-2 Audio Decoder
    - bcVDPluginConsole.dll // plug-ins
    - bcVDPluginDeveloperConsole.dll
    - bcVDPluginInfoLayer.dll
    - bcVDPluginStreamDataLayer.dll
    - bcVDPluginSystray.dll
    - bcVideoDecoder.dll // bitcontrol® Video Decoder
    - LicMan.exe // license manager program
    - MPEG Decoder License.txt // licensing information
    - MPEG Decoder Readme.txt // this file
    - uninst-bcmpeg.exe // uninstall the decoder
    - Licenses // Directory for license files *.lic
    - Licenses\ABCDEFGHIJ.lic // License file

    Note: There may be other installation directory name in different countries. It depends on your local MS Windows installation, e.g. for Germany "C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\BitCtrl" (directory depends on Windows variable "CommonProgramFile").


    4.)

    Please, use the program "LicMan.exe" to install a new license or to manage already installed licenses.

    To install a valid license otherwise, copy the license file you have obtained by Email or taken from the disc to the "Licenses" directory under C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitCtrl\Licenses. Please pay special attention when copying the license file. It must have the file extension *.lic, e.g. ABCDEFGHIJKLAMNOP.lic, where the name of that file represents the serial number.

    If you bought the decoder using the online-shop, then please login into the shop with your account, click on "Previous Orders" and download the license file from chapter "Download Links".

    If the name of the license file ends with extension 'filename.lic.txt', then please rename it to 'filename.lic' without the .txt string ending.

    5.)

    To uninstall the "bitcontrol® MPEG Video Decoder" launch the program "uninst-bcmpeg.exe" from the directory mentioned above.


    Trial Versions

    You can get a trial license from BitCtrl, if you are a registered user on the BitCtrl WEB site. Please visit http://www.bitcontrol.com and follow the instructions to get a time limited trial version (15 days) of the "bitcontrolŽ MPEG Decoder" - video and audio.
